They're here! Video of APHA's Opening Session speakers, including Drs. Bill Jenkins and Cornel West, is up!
Below, part one of Cornel West's Opening Session speech and part one of Bill Jenkins' speech. Visit APHA's YouTube channel for West's and Jenkins' entire keynote addresses and more.
I have been going to APHA annual meetings since I was a graduate student, a long time. This was, indeed, one of the best opening programs. Everyone was great. Everyone adequately described a very obvious social injustice in our public health/political/democratic system. The diversity that makes America great is the diversity that unscrupulous people will use to tear us apart. The speakers emphasized the hard decisions which must be made by those in power as well as every American citizen. I could go on and on because I am so inspired. This inspiration is a testament to the power of the opening ceremony and the good articulation of social injustice in America by the speakers. GREAT JOB1
