National Public Health Week 2016: 'Healthiest Nation 2030'

Imagine a week when communities all over the country come together to learn and celebrate the power of public health. Families come out in droves to the local health screening fair, kids discover what it’s like to ride their bikes to school, and entire communities learn about the role their local public health departments play in their daily lives. Thankfully, this is no dream. It’s National Public Health Week.

Next year’s National Public Health Week celebration will take place April 4-10 and has a theme of “Healthiest Nation 2030.” The theme is connected to APHA’s new movement to create the healthiest nation in one generation — a movement we’ve aptly dubbed Generation Public Health. During National Public Health Week, you and your organization can join hundreds of communities from coast to coast in observing the essential role of public health in our lives and take steps — both big and small — to make our neighborhoods safer and healthier for all.

Visit the National Public Health Week site for more information and resources or stop by the National Public Health Week booth — booth number 1429-10A — at the Public Health Expo.
